Launch!

Will be launching to the public tomorrow & if all went well you should be able to check out the finished version of my ERWN SR 500 build. We busted or asses, neglected family, friends, and pretty much all other responsibilities to get this thing finished. So if your not signed up go do so you'll enjoy it.

Daikoube Slabside Build

I have no idea how I stumbled onto this blog and I have to admit some of the early fab work looked a bit scary but man it's turning out pretty damn cool. Not to mention the crazy machined wheels he's doing.
I really wish I could read it, fortunately he's done a good job of posting progress photos.

HELP! We Are REALLY Stumped & Frustrated!

GOT IT!

New Links

I added a couple of new links to the list, both really good. The first one is our good friend FlatIron Mike whose finally grabbing the bike by the bars and starting his own thing. Mike does good stuff and the fact that his bike is the top keyword search on BCM for 3 weeks running says you guys like his work too.
The second is the new daily blog from Shinya Kimura. Nothing really needs to be said about Shinya, he's a one of kind MC artist & I look forward to checking out what he has up is sleeve.

BCM Turns One

I almost forgot.
I started this, well, whatever it has become, one year ago today. I can't recall why I decided BCM would be a good idea but it's been pretty damn fun.
My friends and I have made some fun stuff, met some great new people, received some valuable help and information, all & all I think it's been for the good.
As of this posting BCM has 72 public followers, 61,000 hits from 68 different countries and most recently the crew at Chop Cult has chosen us as one their dozen featured blogs.
A Huge thanks to everyone who checks it out & participates we're very grateful.
Now the big question is when & how do you pull the plug on this sort of thing.
Ha.

Brew Dude Down

I know this has been posted in quite a few places but if the message reaches a few more on here it's doing it's job. Not to mention Brew Dude took a big one for the team so to speak.
Be careful out there People.

Well That Was A Fun Weekend

We had family in town, some major wiring issues with the ERWN SR500 but the weekend ended with some leisurely beers while doing a little work on Pauls BMW. Thanks to the guys on the SR500 Forum and a couple of dudes in the Chop Cult forum section we got over the wiring issues & we're in the home stretch on SR I hope to have it buttoned up in the next couple of days.
On Saturday evening we BBQ'd a couple beer can chickens one of my simple new favorites and the left overs made for amazing chicken tacos last night.
The BMW received a rear fender mock up, finished the headlight & seat pan mounting then got the front end back together.
Enjoy some random photos.

MD Racing

Motorcycle Dynamics Racing in Escondido shortens our cables and most of the time they'll do it while you wait. So yesterday while waiting for the SR clutch cable I snapped a few phone pics.
MDR is mostly into speed, drag racing, Bonneville, El Mirage type stuff and they always have some cool stuff sitting around. Well actually there's a ton of stuff packed in there. MDR's current labor of love is an electric bike for upcoming Bonneville but I didn't get to see it.

The Corner of Ohio & Spruce

Before the urban sprawl made it's way into So Cals inland empire we could gear up and ride out of Mcgoo's garage get some of the best trails and field tracks in the area and we did so often. This particular day was during the week & McGoo was working so my buddy Steve and I made use of the hide a key to do some late afternoon riding as a gesture of thanks we gave the lawn a quick trim. Those days are long gone but some great riding was had.
BS post I know but I have parts to chase.

Tuff Wheels?

What this post used to be was that odd red w/stars everywhere flathead sittin on white Tuff wheels???
On 7/23 I recieved the email below from "BIG D" himself.
Don't Break International Law kids.
"Hey there!!!
I just got the hint of a friend that the pictures of my red dmx bike are on your blog. I'm kindly letting you know that there's a copyright on them and that you are illegaly using them on your site! So if you wanna do yourself a favour you should take them down as soon as possible!!
It would be great if you could let me know where you got the pics from."

You get the idea.

I'm Tired

I've been doing double time finishing up the ERWN SR500 & aside from the things out of my control (paint schemes, color choices, seat preferences, etc.) it's coming together well & I'm happy with my end of the deal.
Pat machined the taillight bezel yesterday & I got it cleaned up and mounted. Stoked, I like it a lot. If time allows I'd like some flathead allen bolts.
Now on to day two of wiring with Wes.
Also the Chop Cult guys stopped by yesterday, messed around in the garage a bit and gave me an online update/run down on the very near complete site. It's definitely a user friendly one stop shop.
Sign Up, the launch countdown is on.

W650

Yesterday I received an email from UK friend of BCM Markus & he included a couple photos of his cool daily, a Kawasaki W650. I like these bikes, the bevel drive makes it. I know Matsumaru & Deus have both done some nice w650's & I can easily see one coming through BCM in the future.
Nice job Markus.

HMMM...

It looks like Mr. Lagerfeld got himself a nice Triumph.

On The Short List

So this guy is doing a beautiful full on ground up street tracker out of a breathed on Husqvarna 570, and blogging the progress.
I love this kind of stuff.

Remember that year or so at Airwalk?

So about 45 min before we're scheduled to leave for Smoke Out West I get an email from a european writer who's doing a piece for Cream BMX Lifestyle Magazine on the history Airwalk footwear in BMX. Somehow the guy tracked me down and asked if I was the guy he was looking for and if I'd answer some questions but he was leaving for vacation in an hour and would appreciate it if I would hurry. So I did the best I could, remembering details of more than a dozen years ago on short notice was kind of tough. Yesterday I received a couple copies in the mail.
Here's how it turned out.

Andy Jenkins Interview

Trash filter did good interview with my friend and great talent Andy Jenkins. Andy mentions one of his favorite board graphic works to be the Kris Markovich Evel Knievel 101 board back in 1993. Selfishly this is very cool to me as the original hangs in my family room.
Check out the interview here: JENKINS INTERVIEW
*Thanks FBM

New Bluecollarmoto

It sounds like Blue Collar Moto Chris ran into some capacity issues with the google blogger system and ended up having to restart under a different url. This is a bit concerning for sure, I would hope google comes up with a better solution.

Bobs conversion

The foot clutch/jockey shift conversion for Bobs FLH has been super fun and seems to be turning out pretty well. Here's the shifter we made up over the weekend, Bob had Rick the welder deal with the hardened steel ball to the crap steel.

Apart

Procrastination Worthy

I've been putting this off and it finally came down to the last bit of fab work for the ERWN SR. I couldn't really remember why I was putting it off but it quickly came back to me, there's a lot going on in this small space and it kind of sucks making it all happen. I like aluminum but it breaks so what I do is mirror a piece of stainless to the bracket for support. make the pattern, cut it, cut the stainless, anneal the aluminum, bend it, drill it all, shape, sand, polish, mount the tail light, you get the picture. It's just a ridiculous amount of time and I'm sure glad there's beer left over from the weekend.

Back at it.

Over the holiday weekend, we did some of this

Random

A great turn out at Hensley's last night. The Band was stoked on the bikes, good times.
Also all sticker requests went out today so ya'll should be seeing them in a few days.
A shout out to Matt and the boys from MMI Orlando, Thanks for digging BCM.
Now Pat and I are headed out for a ride!
I've been thinking about some street moto.

Renner!

Word has it Mr Renner is going to attempt to go bigger at the end of July.
Cool looking fun for sure.

Tear Down.

Erwn SR500 is ready for tear down. There's a lot of good little bits of stuff going on on this bike.
Stoke the thumper.

Grolsch

I enjoy a 4 pack now and again, I can't always bring myself to throw away the cap hardware. If you can get past the red, the sealing gaskets make nice washers for rubber mounting & Joe Strummer used them for strap locks on his Telecaster. but I never came up with a use for the stainless or the cap?
Trash.
