Instead of buying a much needed computer, instead of going to Moon Eyes Japan with my friend Troy, I go and buy a another bike?
2000, 1400 miles, the dude need to make a mortgage payment so it was a score for sure.
Now to fry some turkey.

Hudson River Style!

A Huge Thanks to Andy & Rob at American Icon Screen Printing.
We now have some shirts.
I'll figure out pricing and all that within the next couple of days, right now I have a grip of potatoes to peel and two turkeys to prep for frying.

Pipes, Pipes, Pipes!

The beginnings of a 2 into 1

LB Parking Lot Triumph

The usual "on my out" parking lot walk through was disappointing, all Raider Nation baggers with thumpin systems.
That was until I saw this Triumph!
Perfect!
I love everything about this bike. It screams ride me.
Hey rider/builder/owner if your reading this, Amazing job, you made my day.

Long Beach Swap

The #1 Woman & I went to Long Beach Swap yesterday in search of an 18"rear wheel setup for Pat's iron head, a pan head squish pipe and or a new project donor bike.
All we came home with was these four glasses which Frank spotted from a 100 yards.
The cool thing is we already own four that we found at a Temecula antique store over ten years ago. That makes 8 glasses, mint juleps anyone?

HONDA GB500

This past weekend I met a beautiful Honda GB500 and it's owner Christian.
(Sorry if I butchered your name I really need to stop drinking or start writing shit down)
Great Dude and really clean bike.
Basically a sleeved down XR-XL 600 motor tucked in a cafe inspired chassis, nice clean lines on the tins & a beautiful set stock 18" wheels off the dealer floor with aluminum drop center rims.
I was pretty taken by this bike in her stock shoes but I would love to clean up some of the stock clutter and shave a few pounds as well, however this seems to be a purist cult collector kind of machine & I have a feeling I'd have some angry people filling my inbox.
Fuck em, I hope I find one someday.

HMMMM.....

I ran across this photo & I looked at it real quick, then looked again & I thought, Hey that red & blue bike is in my garage.
I went out and looked sure enough that's the one and it's still here.
it's just missing a front end?

Slab City Riot

9am Saturday morning & Pat shows up already having some shifting issues but it was decided to go for it anyway so we left Carlsbad with a 3 speed iron head which was fine it just slowed the pace down & we made it with only a couple of minor issues. Well except for Pat his bike got worse & the clutch pretty much laid down for good as we pulled in to the party zone.

Man, I had so much fun & it was good to see so many people that I hadn't hung out with in a while however I think the best thing about up keeping this blog is the new people I meet and become friends with. This past weekend was no exception I met so many cool people who check out BCM it was pretty overwhelming actually.
Thanks All!
A really noticeable change compared to past events McGoo, Bill & company have hosted was the bikes. The diversity of bikes was amazing American, European, Japanese, it didn't matter and ton of great work to seen.
My pick for bike of the event goes to Matt Barker and his beautiful Hot Rod Shovelhead. An Amazing Bike and a Great Guy to boot!
*
I'm thinking Chop Cults non biased "Everyone's Welcome we just like cool Motorcycles" outlook on custom/garage built bikes is the reason.
*
A Big thanks to PHX Cindy who brought us beer and shared pretty much everything she had with our crew.
*
Unfortunately Sunday morning Pat & I had to split off from the rest of the guys, we nursed his bike as far as Brawley and called our rescue truck to make the 5 hour round trip to pick us up. We made it home and my girl earned a day at the spa.
*
Once again the boys responsible for Chop Cult, Biltwell pulled off a great event!
Thanks Guys we're grateful.

Here's 10 photos of our journey but you'll need more so there's a whole thread over at:

We'll See How This Turns Out.

Yesterday around 3 in the afternoon I go out to the garage to add some oil and strap on my crap & out of the blue my tank has decided to crack & start leaking. After a mad scramble and a semi late night it's fixed & I'm as ready as I 'm going to be.
Pulling out for Salvation Mountain here in a few minuets.

Stare at this a while.

I know this bike's been around but it's timeless & we're busy being unprepared for The Slab City Riot.
See ya'll on Monday.

Street Terror!

Dark down the paint, change up the tires for a little tread & I could enjoy causing some serious trouble on this baby!

Prototypes?

Pat spun a starter bearing yesterday & that put a halt to dialing in his bike for Saturdays ride so I took the opportunity to spend a few hours on the first working samples of the Bench*Mark Kicker pedal & air cleaner. So far I'm pretty pleased with both. Check them out but keep in mind there will be quite a few changes before they're ready.
I'm thinking the logos will be different on the pedal, some of the lines softened up a bit, a smaller bolt. The air cleaner will be changed the most with no visable logo & a completely different look on the front, a different mounting system & possibly a bit thinner.

T-Dolly

I'm working on a little something for my pan project and I needed one of these, a few minuets later & I now have one. I always love the idea that something so simple will enable some complex idea come to life. I'm sure I'm going to have to make some other sizes down the road but this is a good start.
T-Dolly, it's also the name of my new metal band
That's all you get today I'm going to play with my dolly.

See you there.

Scotty's FLH for Slab City

I got a note from Sac Town Scotty (Halseth) this morning and it's looking like the shake down ride for his FLH is going to be the route to the Salton Sea.
This one night event just keeps getting better and better.
Looking Good Scotty.
rubber side down, shiny side up & we'll see you on Saturday, Yes?
