Let's use 1/4" SS rod. OK, we need a stainless clevis,
well we have some round bar and an angle grinder.
It's too flexi let's try a gusset and blend in all nice.

Get the thick stuff out.

One more idea to try before it's sticking out of the sheetrock on the south side wall.

MAKE THE MOUNTING POINT CURVED AND STURDY, THEN THE ROD CAN BE STRAIGHT AND NOT FLEX, SPITBALLING OUT LOUD IS ALL-
Ah AL your onto our next plan of action.
We were thing the curved rod looked kind of cool, but it just didn't want to cooperate.
it all depends on your lady....some like a curved rod, and some like a straight rod.
I have found my parts and sheetrock finishing have both improved throughout the years.
Keep trying.
